Goeppertia concinna
also known as leopardina
This one clearly hates me. The moment it arrives in my Belgian tropics, it seems to begin planning its own demise.
Plant graveyard

Complicated relationships
also known as leopardina
This one clearly hates me. The moment it arrives in my Belgian tropics, it seems to begin planning its own demise.
the binary one
Its emotional state appears to be binary: either perfectly happy or urgently in need of a full-scale drama. There is rarely anything in between.
the spider-mite romantic
It does not seem to hate me personally. Unfortunately, it is permanently and passionately in love with spider mites.
permanently dissatisfied
It never quite dies, but it is also never truly happy. Apparently, surviving and enjoying life are two completely different concepts.
A reassuring thought
The graveyard may look dramatic, but it represents only part of the story. Many more plants are currently alive, growing and producing new leaves—sometimes even without complaining.
